picked one up at best buy friday night, went out sat an did a full tank of gas run first thing an it read 61.2 ,on an empty tank it read 61.8,dont seem like a
big difference, both on glass water, will it make a difference at a half a tank?or is that about it? riding on the back down low, tail tucked an knees
stucked.only mods are modded pump from skiworx and a shred plate
best i did was 61.6 on 6" chop with no mods and 1/2 tank. seems like were both missing a little bit of power. i was hoping for 63.5. which garmin did you
buy? the etrex H? thats what i got.
kinda sorta i did have a spell awile back where i burned a head gasket lost compression to 60 but we fixed it an she runs great again.ive had mine for 5 years
an touched nothing great ski an hardly can be beat
i agree, i was running with a stage 1 gp1300r and he didn't have that much on me. i might make mine a stage 1 this winter if funds allow it. my buddy has
an fxsho that im dying to beat haha.
Sounds like you are both missing a couple of mph. Small details in the setup can make a big difference. You should be running 63-64 pretty easy. My 00 only has
a mod stock grate and is near 66. I did go through all the pump, plate and grate setup but havent cut the trim rod yet.
my ride plate isn't flush with my hull. im waiting for the shreadmaster and than im putting that and the R&D intake grate all on in one shot. i also
still have to check my pump clearance. you think the sloppy rideplate would give me the lower numbers? it's got about a 3/16" cliff from hull to plate
Yes the plate being down could kill alot of speed so could the wear ring clearance. The r&d will scrub some but the rough water hookup is worth it. Your
elevation is fine im at 542ft when the lake is at normal pool. Keep in mind to that high temps and humidity can affect you too.
it's only like 70-85 here. the lake is almost always choppy though. i haven't had a perfect condition with 1/8 tank of fuel yet. im hoping for better
numbers if that ever happens. im doing the trim mod tomorrow.
Hot here too, killing HP. I'm down atleast 200RPMs from 2 weeks ago.
Jordon, a "cliff" like that is probably scrubbing off quite a bit of your speed. Like Morris said its all in the details back there. Spend some time
working on the R&D grate before you put it on. They usually have a few casting flaws you can take out. Do a search, I know its been discussed here before.
I did quite a bit of filing on mine, and was able to get back most of the speed I lost on glass.
Just looked, I rounded the sides of the fins. Probably doesn't have too much impact on the side. I did take a good 1/8-3/16" off the sides of the
fins.
