all three of my plugs get pretty dark after normal use. im going to put in a new set of plugs in the next time i go out and document what they look like. In
the meantime what do you guys think could be causing this? i've read that our plugs should be like a golden brownish. mine are definitely not golden brown.
more like char coal black, even a bit oilley. how do you guys feel about that?
2000, 55 hours, no mods. i use the stock oil pump and dont add any extra oil to my fuel
no i haven't. im sort of trying to do preventative maintenance. ill try a plug chop next time im out. is the black on my plugs from just idling into the
marina than?
Probably so, if it was fouling them then I would say you are rich. You want to run it wot for a bit then hit the stop button and pull the plugs that will show
you the color.
alright, i will give that a try next time im out and take a picture. hopefully i will get a golden brown plug. do you guys gap your spark plugs or do they come
gaped correctly from the factory?
The last 15-20 I checked were rite so now I just take them out of the box and put em in. Im working on my 3rd box of plugs this season. Tripples dont like to
idle!
I am going back to a single, im just waiting on the pipe to get back. I started out putting new plugs in both ultras and the stx1100 then the 00 fouled a
couple in the first tank of premix. I have been chasing the carbs on the 04 so I have fouled a bunch plus if I have to idle alot it wants to foul 1-2. Funny
thing is it will run 55+ on 2 cylinders
