compression ratio

Can anyone tell me what the stock compression ratio should be on an ultra 150?

I have been having a problem with the ultra not running correct. I pulled the heads off and noticed the cylinder towards the muffler is the problem. The head was clean (seen in pic 104) not black or anything like the other two. Im figuring water is getting in the cylinder. Makes sense because the ski will not idle but runs decent. The exhaust just shoots black water and smoke out the pipe. My exhaust manifold is clean also. Im wondering if I just replace all the gaskets...

Stock 1999 ultra w/the hot ingnition... Can I run ADA 42cc Heads (on 91 Octane pump gas) w/out damaging things?

Is the performance worth the risk (if there is one) of blowing things up???

Hey there ! finally found this good thing here. I have a problem with my 2000 Ultra, It seemed to run fine when I bought it, but then, it started to backfire out the exhaust when cold starting. Took it out recently and the thing has a "whirring sound" coming from the engine compartment. It almost sounds like a sewing machine when taking off. Can anybody help out a clueless rider? Any and all help is appreciated !!!! Shane

i have a 1999 kaw a-1 150 and i need some advice as to what to do. when u hit the gas on her she doesnt go very quick. about 8 mph. it vibrates (not alot but
just enough to know its happening) sometimes it will go up to 60 but it takes forever to get there. it gets full rpms but just doesnt go even though it seems
like it wants to! ive done a compression check with 120 psi and have cleaned out the jets in the carb. there is no visible obstution in the impeller. ive ran

Guage problem...

so...my buttons on my guage are starting to wear off...the set button(top one) the plastic outside layer on the guage has broken apart so that i can touch and see the rubber button under it..and the one under is it about to do the same...i can see litle crackes in the plastic..what should i do?

The stock OEM 80 hour pistons still look rather nice - yet I did notice some carbon on the top of the piston. Ski certainly runs great, but surely appears to be a little on the rich side - I took a closer pic before I put the head back on it today:

Launched in Tampa Bay early this AM - and went back to play "Pro-Stock" Jet-Ski'ers back in the shallows by the mangroves as the mangroves make for an incredible obstacle course - all the while taking advantage of high tide in the AM. Saw a dolphin back there and just enjoyed her presence. One thing I did notice was a lot of weeds and leaves in the H2O at this time of the year - even at the current 87*F water temperature.

Stud Removal Tool

Does anyone know if there is a special size removal tool that is needed to put the studs back into the cylinders?
I start tonight putting things back together and I need this tool, but I don't know if there is a certain one I need to purchase.
Any help would be appreciated.

last weekend was my first time ever on a jet ski in the ocean...IT WAS AWSOME!!!
i was jumping straight into the waves right before they broke over and i got soo much air...
i was wondering tho...wen i got to the house to flush the engine and hose the ski down, there was some sand on the top side of the ride plate and i was thinking if any got into the cooling for the engine...is their any way to put a strainer on the intake hose for the cooling so i dnt clog anything up?

I'm officially out of ideas. I have a newly rebuilt engine with Skiworx milled heads and CV mod. My ski will only rev to right under 6k rpm's. Compression check right after my ride tonigh saw 125 across the board. Here are the issues I'm having:

1) Hole shot - There is a second or two delay before it catches and takes off. After it catches it seems to run good. Ski instantly revs to 4k during hesitation and then jumps to over 5k when it catches. Is this the pump,...

Good evening.

I have noticed that my ski has to be primed to start if I leave it for more than 20 mins or so!!! I have a primer kit fitted so no big deal but it normally would be good all day after initial run. What should I check.
